We are Alex and Diana Horai and we have been working with an evangelistic organisation called “Ukraine for Christ” for 14 years. Our role has been to develop a spiritual movement among secondary school teachers called “CrossRoads”. Evangelism is just the beginning of what we do. We seek to encourage teachers in their spiritual growth by meeting with new Christians personally for discipleship, inviting them to join a Bible study groups and prayer meetings as well as offering training events. We also run training events and prayer meetings. Since we moved to the UK as a result of the war we have been able to continue this work remotely.
However, from August 1st 2024 I, Alex, have transferred to work for GAiN, the humanitarian partner of Agapé UK. Diana will be continuing in her role with Ukraine for Christ.
GAiN is a worldwide relief and development organisation dedicated to bringing hope and tangible help to people living in poverty and crisis.
We believe that every life counts and that everyone deserves to receive unconditional love and help when they need it. We seek to support and mobilise people from different backgrounds to respond practically to poverty and crisis.
In practice, we collect essential relief items through a growing network of collection points and volunteers around the UK. We host sessions to pack these items ready to be sent to countries where there is a need. We also send teams out to give their time and talent in the countries where we are working.
