Angie and I joined Agapé UK in 2000 to be part of the Jesus Video Project team and, today, I continue to be involved in training and mentoring individuals, churches and Christian organisations in evangelism and discipleship.
In 2008, we moved to Woodbury, near Exeter in Devon. Not long after we arrived, I met local student worker Dave Pegg, who shared my passion to see Christians effectively discipled in living and sharing their faith in Jesus before leaving for college or university. In July 2009, Dave and I ran our first ever “Living & Telling for school leavers”. Since then, we have run Living & Telling every year and have seen hundreds of young lives transformed.
Church leaders around the country began to hear about Living & Telling and asked us if they could have it. We knew we had to start putting pen to paper. This soon turned to writing video scripts and, finally, in October 2019 Dave and I launched the brand new Living & Telling at the Christian Resources Exhibition. This new edition is now truly for every Christian, age 16 or 116, whether you have just completed an Alpha course or have been following Jesus all your life! Hundreds of church leaders have registered online to download the free resources and videos. Courses are now running around the UK and Living & Telling has started to spread around the world. We have produced an edition for Jamaica and are currently working on West African and Farsi editions.
During lockdown 2020, we developed an additional range of resources to enable the course to be run online by anyone using Zoom. In June 2020, we ran the course simultaneously in 4 languages with over 100 students in over 20 countries.
Dave and I are now working on Live it! Tell it! – a brand new course for 11 – 15 year-olds. We are hoping to launch this “younger sibling” of Living & Telling in Autumn 2024.
